Dr. Konstantinos Vazouras, DDS, DMD, MPhil, MDSc, FACP is a board-certified prosthodontist, dental educator, and academic leader with extensive experience in advanced prosthodontics, implant dentistry, dental biomaterials, and restorative care. A Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, he combines advanced clinical expertise with postgraduate education and academic leadership to help train the next generation of specialists in complex restorative and implant dentistry.

Dr. Vazouras serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and as Program Director of the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics. He joined the Tufts faculty as an Assistant Professor in 2017, became Interim Program Director of the postgraduate prosthodontics program in 2020, was appointed Program Director in 2021, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2023.

His education and specialty training span several leading institutions across Greece, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Dr. Vazouras earned his DDS from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and his DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He subsequently completed an MPhil in Biomaterials and Dental Technology with a focus on Prosthodontics at the University of Manchester, developing an advanced understanding of the materials and technologies used in contemporary restorative dentistry.

Dr. Vazouras continued his specialty education at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where he completed an Advanced Specialty Program and earned a Certificate of Specialty in Prosthodontics. He also earned a Master of Dental Science (MDSc) and completed a Certificate in Implant Surgery, further strengthening his expertise in complex prosthodontic rehabilitation and implant-based treatment.

Following his postgraduate specialty training, Dr. Vazouras completed an ITI Scholarship in Implant Dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. This advanced training contributed further to his experience in implant dentistry, interdisciplinary treatment planning, and the integration of surgical and prosthodontic principles in comprehensive patient care.

As an academic leader, Dr. Vazouras plays an important role in the education and clinical development of dentists pursuing advanced specialty training in prosthodontics. His work encompasses prosthodontics, implant dentistry, dental biomaterials, dental technology, restorative treatment, and complex oral rehabilitation, with an emphasis on applying evidence-based principles and modern clinical techniques to improve treatment outcomes.

His professional and academic interests also include dental materials and equipment, reflecting his background in biomaterials and dental technology. This combination of clinical specialization, scientific training, and academic leadership gives Dr. Vazouras a broad perspective on the evolving technologies and treatment approaches shaping contemporary prosthodontics.

Dr. Vazouras brings an international perspective to dental education, having trained and worked across multiple countries and academic systems. He speaks English, Greek, and German, complementing his internationally focused educational and professional background.

Through his work as a prosthodontist, educator, and postgraduate program director, Dr. Vazouras continues to contribute to the advancement of prosthodontics, implant dentistry, restorative care, and specialist dental education while helping clinicians develop the knowledge and skills required for sophisticated, evidence-based patient care.
